Shahin Afrassiabi is a practicing artist teaching in London and Finland. For him the pedagogic relationship art has with a community, cannot be left to institutional bodies alone. Afrassiabi started the New International School in 2006. With this project he hopes to shift the ground of artistic production from the generally recognized cultural and economic centers of the world, to coordinates where the question of the agency of art is not yet over-determined. |
