Art practice continuously demands the reassessment of the means with which it is presented and recognized. We are mistaken if we imagine that the spaces in which the discipline of art is connected to the world at large allows art to exist. It is Art that defines and creates the possibilities of engagement with the world at large through endless coalitions and hybridisations with allied disciplines. The structure of any Body that is designed as a vehicle for the arts, needs to be constantly self-updating in order to remain open to the flux of the redefining activity of artworks. Artists have begun to stretch Treignac Projet beyond its physical site. They are making new demands on how such a body counts itself whole.
A supplementary programme of durational and sited works beyond the gallery will be shadowing the standard-model programme at Treignac, redefining its infrastructure in relation to evolving art practices.
